SteelTree Terms of Service

Effective Date: The date on which you first accept these Terms or access the Service.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legally binding agreement between you ("Customer" or "you") and SteelTree, Inc. ("SteelTree," "we," or "us") governing your access to and use of the SteelTree system (the "Service").

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. The SteelTree Service

SteelTree provides a cloud-based operational intelligence system that enables organizations to design, deploy, and operate AI-driven workflows, automation, and decision intelligence environments.

The Service includes software, AI agents, orchestration systems, automation frameworks, analytics systems, APIs, and interfaces, all operating within SteelTree's proprietary infrastructure.

2. License Grant

SteelTree grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your internal business purposes during an active subscription.

No ownership rights are transferred.

3. Subscription Plans, Billing, and Renewal

3.1 Free and Paid Plans

The Service may be offered under free and paid subscription plans. Free plans may include limited functionality, usage restrictions, or capacity limits.

3.2 Upgrades

You may upgrade from a free plan to a paid subscription at any time. Your continued use of the Service following an upgrade constitutes acceptance of the applicable paid plan and pricing.

3.3 Billing

Paid subscriptions are billed based on the plan selected at the time of purchase. All fees are non-refundable except as required by law.

3.4 Automatic Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless canceled prior to the renewal date. You authorize SteelTree (and its payment processor) to charge the applicable subscription fees upon renewal.

3.5 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

3.6 Changes to Plans and Pricing

SteelTree may modify pricing, features, or plan structures at any time. Changes apply to future billing periods.

4. SteelTree Intellectual Property

SteelTree retains all rights, title, and interest in the Service, including:

  • Software
  • System architecture
  • AI agents and orchestration systems
  • Automation frameworks
  • Operational intelligence systems
  • Algorithms and models

These are proprietary to SteelTree.

5. Customer Data

You retain ownership of all data you submit to the Service ("Customer Data"). SteelTree will not sell Customer Data.

6. Data Use, Isolation, and AI Processing

Customer Data is processed solely to provide the Service to that Customer.

SteelTree does not use Customer Data, including inputs, outputs, or operational activity, to train or improve any shared, generalized, or public AI models, or to benefit other customers.

Customer-specific workflows, system behaviors, and operational intelligence are generated and maintained within that Customer's environment and are not shared across customers.

Use of the Service may improve outcomes within the Customer's own environment, but such improvements are not transferred or reused across other customers.

SteelTree may improve the performance, reliability, and functionality of the Service using anonymized, aggregated, and non-customer-specific system-level information that does not include Customer Data or identifiable operational context.

Customer-specific operational intelligence remains confined to the Customer's instance of the Service and is not retained for reuse following termination.

7. System Intelligence

The Service may generate operational insights, workflows, automation structures, or system behaviors. These are created using SteelTree's proprietary technology and:

  • Are part of the SteelTree system
  • Are not transferable outside the Service

8. Restrictions

You may not:

  • Use the Service in violation of applicable laws or regulations
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
  • Attempt unauthorized access to the Service or related systems
  • Reverse engineer, extract, or replicate the Service
  • Use the Service to build or improve competing products

9. Account Responsibility

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify SteelTree promptly of any unauthorized use of your account.

10. Service Availability and Changes

SteelTree may modify, update, or discontinue the Service or any part of it at any time. SteelTree does not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

11. Suspension and Termination

SteelTree may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or fail to pay fees.

Upon termination:

  • Access to the Service ends
  • Customer Data may be exported during a limited period
  • Customer Data will be deleted following a reasonable retention period in accordance with SteelTree's data retention practices
  • System-generated operational intelligence may become inaccessible and may be permanently deleted and non-recoverable

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." SteelTree makes no warranties regarding accuracy, availability, or fitness for purpose.

13. Limitation of Liability

SteelTree is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Total liability is limited to the amount paid by you in the prior 12 months.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.
